Challenge: Miller Bonded, Inc. (MBI), a $25 million mechanical HVAC contractor and fabrication shop, using construction accounting software without integration to project management or service, needed to find integrated software to overcome this lack of control and become more competitive as they prepared to undertake the construction of a Las Vegas-style casino with a $7 million mechanical budget.

Solution: MBI selected AMSI's StarBuilder job cost accounting software for construction industry, StarProject project management software and ServiceWorks service management and dispatch software for construction industry to deliver the tight integration they needed for the casino project. Through the implementation of these applications project managers can immediately view project data, including monitoring change orders, purchase orders, payments and costs, allowing them to see and address potential cost overruns. The integration of StarBuilder to ServiceWorks allows service department data to flow directly onto accounting for AR, inventory and GL purposes. The ease of use and visibility of data provided by these programs created a 90% drop in requests for reports, allowing the accounting department to do more with less staff.
